When it comes to any previous tutoring experience, I have tutored many children in my neighborhood and my family. In addition, last year, for a semester in my senior year, I managed to achieve an internship at the College of Staten Island High School for International Studies teaching and helping children with chemistry and biology.

When I was a young child, I had difficulty learning how to read and write. I was a quiet child and painfully shy. Even though I was struggling in various subjects, I was afraid to ask for help. Yet, throughout time, I managed to overcome my shyness improve my grades. However, not every child can do that. This is why I want to become a teacher, to teach and help those who afraid or embarrassed to ask for help. In addition, I love books and I truly enjoy learning. Besides actually fulfilling my future aspiration, I want to encourage students to think for themselves and realize that it is perfectly normal and noble for people to ask for help when they need it.

My name is Michelle Charlotte Shed. I'm 18 years old and a freshman majoring in Education at CSI. Ever since I was six years old, I have wanted to teach and tutor other children. Although History is my favorite subject, I enjoy teaching and studying Psychology, Political Science, Chinese, English, Studio Art, and Algebra. Books are my life. In my spare time, I read anything and everything from Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre to Shakespeare's Hamlet. However, I also draw, visit my friends and family, ride my bike, watch movies, and write in my journal. I love little kids and although I wouldn't mind teaching older children, tutoring kids at the elementary level is what I really love.
