Education

High school education consisted of 2-years of the IGCSE curriculum followed by 2 years of the IB Curriculum (2009-2013). Took IB Math and Physics HL in high school which is comparable up to AP Physics and Calculus I. B.S in Physics with a minor in Math upon graduation in 2018 at University of Illinois- Urbana-Champaign. M.S in Physics with an expected graduation date in 2020 at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. My current GPA is 3.94/4.00. I'm a member of a research group specialized in quantum control theory (Ultrafast Dynamics and Control Theory Group).

Experience

TA/Grader Undergraduate/Graduate Classical Mechanics 2019 Fall. Tutored High school students in IB Math HL and IB Physics HL 2013 Undergraduate career involved taking all physics and math core courses including a variety of advanced electives. Core: Mechanics, E&M, Statistical Physics, Quantum Mechanics, Calculus, Linear Algebra Electives: Condensed Matter Physics, Modern Physics lab, Fundamental Math, Real and Complex Analysis, Abstract Algebra, Differential Geometry, Statistics. Completed core courses required for Master's curriculum except 1 course. Electives in Special and General Relativity, graduate level math courses. Worked in research projects involving using ultrafast light pulses to control Raman transitions in multilevel atomic systems. Current project involves investigating possibility of using electromagnetically induced transparency phenomenon to detect high energy particles. I always was the guy who went around trying to help other people in their coursework- whether this was intentional is another question- and I cultivated a passion for explaining concepts and trying to come up with various analogies to give better insight into course content. I plan to become a theoretical/mathematical physicist in quantum theory (field theory specialized to finite systems) and sought to end up in academia for the research and the teaching. Since academia is my end goal, it suffices to say that is a valuable stepping stone to me towards my path.

Hobbies

Research in my field is my passion, but I love reading on a variety of topics and subjects. I try to keep currently informed with news around the world, read Wikipedia entries. I play video games (RPGs, RTS and Souls-like) and watch anime and fantasy-related TV shows and movies. To be honest, it's kind of hard to make time for those hobbies now as they consume too much time. I adore my dog and am the kind of person who'll be huddled with a pet when going over to someone's house. Taking my dog on a long walk is a great way for me to temporarily escape into my own world.
