I attribute my inspiration as a tutor to my high school history teacher, who gifted me the opportunity to mentor a young male student as he became a young adult. This deepened my belief that education is invaluable for our youngest generation. I am determined to introduce students to the academic world through math. My academic pursuits include an advanced degree in challenging mathematics. My studies taught me how to navigate research and evaluation, how to develop many transferable skills, gifted me the ability to interpret complex information, filled me with confidence in oral and written communication, and instilled an outstanding attention to detail. While in college, I volunteered with The Boys and Girls Club working with teenagers, and gained experience with group tutoring. My volunteer work helped me understand how important it is to apply a unique learning style for each individual to succeed. I realize that as a tutor I possess power, and I must responsibly convey not only academic material, but the reverent treatment of others, the importance of group work, leadership, and life skills. I also implement fun games and thoughtful approaches to encourage my students. My friends and family tell me I am dynamic and compassionate. My hobbies include music, sports, and reading.
