I am a graduate of Macalester College with a bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature. I have experience tutoring with two different private tutoring organizations. I focus on tutoring English and essays. I can assist students who are struggling with grammar and assignments for Language Arts classes, and I can also work with students on essay writing, literary analysis, and creative writing. In addition, I tutor test prep for the writing and reading sections of the ACT and SAT exams, and the GRE subject test in Literature in English.What makes me a great tutor is that I can relate to my students well. My own experiences as a student make it easy for me to understand when students are frustrated, and I am able to show them how to surmount any obstacles to better understand the material at hand. I am a genuine, caring person who wants my students to succeed, and I have full confidence in their ability to do so. This attitude shines through to my students when we work together. My other strengths are patience and my ability to accommodate individual needs.Besides writing, I like drawing, painting, singing, swimming, and occasionally playing video games.
